Please click the following link to check what time you signed up for http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0c49afaa22a0f85-november! I am so excited to meet with all of you! If you are unable to make your scheduled conference time, please let me know as soon as possible so we can schedule another meeting time.

Please make sure your child is wearing a coat to school, as we go outside for recess every day. Please also make sure your child's' coat and other items( gloves, hats, scarves, etc.) are labeled with your child's name.

Literacy

We are now in Unit 3 of literacy! We are working on the Unit 3 sight words. We are also working on short "i", rhyming and beginning sounds. We have started working on writing narrative stories and are continuing to discuss the IPlanner. We are practicing filling in the IPlanner with character(s), setting, event(s), and reaction/ending. We are beginning to work on narrative stories. We have written stories about what happened at school and stories about ourselves.

Math

We have begun our next unit in math. We are working on counting, recognizing and writing teen numbers and objects. We are working on moving objects from one side of the table to the other when counting. We are also working on if the objects are on paper in a scattered group that is more difficult especially when the number gets larger. We talk about crossing out each item as we count it and being careful counters!

Science

We began our unit on Weather last week! Weather is one of my favorite units to study. We started tracking the weather each day during Calendar time together and now the students as part of their morning routine track the weather! We watched videos about weather in different places and different kinds of weather. We talked about the vocabulary words that go along with weather and what different types of weather are. The week after Thanksgiving Break we will be pretending we are weather reporters and recording each other talking about the weather in different places!
