Thank you so much for coming to conferences and talking with me about your child and their progress! I really enjoyed getting to meet with each of you again.

Literacy

We were continuing Unit 5 of Literacy this week! The Unit 5 sight words I have introduced are: blue and yellow. We are working on opinion writing during our whole group writing time and are continuing to discuss how to fill out a T-chart. This week we wrote about our favorite illustration in the story The Tiny Seed and gave reasons to support why that was our favorite illustration.

Math

We are now in our Unit 6 of Math! We are continuing to count our straws everyday. We talk about how many straws are in the tens and ones place, and how we bundle them when we get to a set of ten. This week we finished up our discussion on addition and number stories and next wee we will start our discussion on subtraction! We have really enjoyed coming up with our own addition number stories!

​Science

We have been talking about that plants need light and water to grow. We have discuss different plants such as cactuses and roses and how different plants need different amounts of light and water to grow. Next week we will be pretending to choose a plant for our classroom and will be talking about why that would be the best plant for our class by making a video!
