Hope you are all doing well! This week we had a fire drill and we did a great job! The month of May is a busy time for us! Please be sure to write down the dates listed above! For the Music Show on May 12th, the students are to wear red, white and/or blue. They will be moving around on risers, so please make sure their shoes are appropriate for these activities.

We will be taking the MAP test this Tuesday and Thursday in our classroom. It is important that you talk with your child about doing their best, listening to the questions and not rushing through this test.

Literacy

We are starting our Unit 6 of literacy this week! We are continuing to work on all of our sets of sight words and short and long vowel sounds. During whole group and small group reading we are working with both literature and informational text.

Math

We are starting our Unit 7 of Math! We are continuing to count our straws everyday. For unit 7 we will work on composing and decomposing teen numbers and continue to work on missing addend and addition and subtraction number stories.

​Science

Our final unit for Science is about what plants and animals need. We have been discussing different habitats such as the grasslands, ocean, mountains, and desert. We have discussed what animals and plants belong in each of the habitats.
